The Role – Senior Design Project Manager
This is a senior leadership role overseeing the design and delivery of renewable energy projects, primarily across solar PV, substations and grid infrastructure. You will take full ownership from early feasibility and design coordination through to construction and commissioning.
Working across multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and in line with strict regulatory and client requirements. This role offers real influence across both technical design decisions and project delivery strategy.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of solar, substation and grid connection projects across Ireland
- Manage multidisciplinary design teams across civil and electrical engineering
- Oversee projects from feasibility, planning and design through to construction and commissioning
- Ensure full compliance with ESB, EirGrid and relevant Irish grid standards
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, contractors and internal delivery teams
- Manage project programmes, budgets, risks and resource allocation
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications and engineering designs
- Drive high standards across health and safety, quality and environmental performance
- Support procurement processes and contractor management
- Provide leadership, direction and mentorship to engineering and project teams
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- 8 to 10 years plus experience in project management within utilities or renewable energy
- Strong track record delivering solar, substation or grid infrastructure projects
- Excellent understanding of MV and HV electrical systems and grid connections
- Experience managing full project lifecycle from design through to commissioning
- Strong commercial awareness with experience in contract and cost management
- Proven ability to manage stakeholders, clients and multidisciplinary teams
- Organised, proactive and solutions focused with strong leadership capability
Salary: €90,000 – €110,000 (DOE)
