You are an experienced Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer with a strong background in mission-critical electrical systems, looking to join a leading contractor delivering large-scale data centre and critical infrastructure projects across Ireland and Europe.
This is a senior site-based role, offering ownership of electrical commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through to testing, validation and handover. You will work closely with Commissioning Managers, Electrical Engineers, QA/QC and Energy teams to ensure all systems are delivered safely, to programme, and to the highest quality standards.

Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Skills & Experience:
- Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent
- Alternatively, a strong electrical trade background with advanced commissioning experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commissioning role within data centres, commercial or industrial construction
- Proven experience commissioning LV/MV systems, with HV exposure advantageous
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution, generators, UPS, transformers, switchgear, busway, ATS, EPMS, BMS and HVAC interfaces
- Hands-on experience with SCADA and automation systems, including IEC-61850, Modbus-TCP and Soft PLC environments
- Knowledge of MV protection, GOOSE interlocking systems, and Siemens Siprotec relays / DIGSI files
- Experience with N 1 and resilience requirements for critical power systems
- Ability to read, review and contribute to automation code (FBD / Ladder / SFC beneficial)
- Strong understanding of control system network architectures
- Excellent coordination and vendor management skills
- Process-driven mindset with a strong focus on EHS and quality management systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously on site
- Take ownership of commissioning activities for assigned electrical packages
- Manage and coordinate electrical commissioning vendors and subcontractors
- Ensure all works are delivered in compliance with scope, programme and approved documentation
- Track and report progress against commissioning milestones and deadlines
- Attend and contribute to daily and weekly commissioning meetings (internal and vendor-facing)
- Prepare and submit weekly commissioning progress reports to senior management
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure quality objectives are achieved
- Work closely with Energy Marshals to plan switching activities and permit requirements
- Review, track and gain approval of commissioning documentation, including test scripts and compliance statements
- Witness and validate vendor commissioning activities against approved procedures
- Manage commissioning tagging processes and site procedures
- Oversee day-to-day commissioning operations on site
- Support final testing, system validation, and handover activities
- Promote and uphold a strong safety-first culture on site
- Ensure all commissioning works comply with EHS regulations and site procedures
- Maintain high standards of documentation, quality control and reporting
