The Company
A respected multidisciplinary engineering consultancy delivering electrical and mechanical building services design across Ireland.
The company provides engineering design services from concept through to construction, commissioning and handover, with a strong focus on technical quality, coordinated design and client relationships.
With a presence in Cork and Limerick, they are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Building Services team, taking responsibility for electrical design delivery, project coordination and supporting junior engineers.
The Role: Senior Electrical Engineer
This is a senior electrical building services design position based in Cork or Limerick, offering the opportunity to take ownership of electrical engineering packages across a range of building projects throughout Ireland.
You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and concept design through detailed design, tender documentation, construction support and handover.
Working closely with mechanical engineers, architects, structural engineers and external consultants, you will ensure electrical designs are technically sound, fully coordinated and delivered to programme.
The position will suit a Senior Electrical Engineer with at least five years' experience in building services consultancy who is ready to take greater technical responsibility and develop towards project leadership.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in building services consultancy and a practical understanding of electrical design on construction projects.
You will be confident managing electrical design packages, coordinating with other disciplines and working directly with clients and contractors.
Strong communication, technical knowledge and organisational skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and support the development of junior engineers.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 5 years' relevant electrical engineering experience within building services design.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or an equivalent qualification required.
- Proven experience designing electrical building services systems, including LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting and fire alarm systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD required.
- Full current driving licence and access to your own car required.
- Previous experience working with a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in Ireland.
- Experience designing ICT/data, security, earthing and associated electrical systems.
- Knowledge of Amtech, DIALux, Relux or similar electrical design software.
- Chartered Engineer status or progress towards chartership would be beneficial.
- Lead electrical building services design across a range of construction projects.
- Design LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm, ICT/data, security and earthing systems.
- Prepare electrical calculations, specifications, drawings, schedules and tender documentation.
- Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical engineers, architects, structural engineers and specialist contractors.
- Attend client meetings, design team meetings and site inspections throughout project delivery.
- Review contractor submissions and monitor electrical installations during construction.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant Irish and European standards and statutory requirements.
- Support commissioning, snagging, testing and final project handover.
- Manage design deliverables, maintain project programmes and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
