The Role: Senior Electrical Estimator
This is a senior position for an experienced Electrical Estimator who can manage the estimating and tendering process while supporting the wider commercial performance of electrical projects.
Based from the company's office in Bailieborough, Co Cavan, with hybrid working available for Dublin-based candidates, you will be responsible for preparing detailed electrical estimates, reviewing tender documentation, completing take-offs, pricing labour and materials, and managing tender submissions.
The role also involves commercial responsibilities including variations, valuations, procurement, cost reporting and supporting project profitability.
Working closely with company directors, Project Managers and site teams, you will have considerable responsibility for the financial performance of projects across Dublin, Cavan and the surrounding region.
The position would suit a Senior Electrical Estimator with strong electrical contracting experience who is comfortable working independently and managing multiple tenders and commercial requirements.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator with a strong background in electrical contracting and a practical understanding of how electrical projects are priced and delivered.
You will have excellent knowledge of electrical materials, labour rates, subcontractor pricing and tender preparation, along with the commercial awareness needed to protect project margins.
You should be confident managing the estimating process independently, communicating with suppliers and subcontractors, and working closely with senior management.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have proven experience as a Senior Electrical Estimator or experienced Electrical Estimator with an electrical contractor.
- Strong experience preparing electrical tenders, material take-offs, labour pricing and cost estimates is required.
- Proven knowledge of electrical installations across commercial, residential or building services projects.
- Hands-on experience reviewing electrical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Strong commercial understanding of variations, valuations, procurement and project cost control.
- Previous experience estimating electrical packages for commercial fit outs, residential developments, healthcare or education projects.
- Experience with electrical estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of solar PV installations and renewable energy projects would be beneficial.
- Electrical trade background or qualification in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Experience working directly with company directors and project delivery teams.
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates, tenders and pricing submissions for new and existing projects.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and tender documentation.
- Complete accurate material take-offs, labour calculations and subcontractor pricing.
- Manage the tendering process from initial enquiry through to final submission.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations.
- Identify and price variations, additional works and changes to project scope.
- Prepare interim valuations, cost reports and commercial documentation.
- Monitor project budgets, costs and financial performance throughout delivery.
- Work closely with directors, Project Managers and site teams to maintain commercial control.
- Support procurement, subcontractor negotiations and final account agreements.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities across current and upcoming projects.
- Ensure tender submissions are accurate, competitive and completed within agreed deadlines.
