We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of major mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering projects across Cork and Limerick.

This role will suit an experienced QS who is confident managing complex packages, leading commercial reporting, and supporting project teams to ensure strong financial performance from pre-construction through to final account.

You will work closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, and clients to provide full commercial oversight across multiple infrastructure, utilities, energy, and engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven QS who wants to take ownership of high-value works and support junior team members as part of a high-performing commercial function.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Skills:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
  • Progressing towards chartership (MRICS) or equivalent is an advantage.
  • Strong experience delivering Mechanical & Electrical packages on major projects.
  • Experience in civils, cabling, renewable energy, or electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Commercially astute with excellent understanding of contracts, procurement, and standard methods of measurement.
  • Confident producing take-offs, estimates, valuations, cost reports, and final accounts.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to negotiate and manage client relationships.
  • Experienced in subcontractor procurement, administration, payments, and contract close-out.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial management tools.
  • Full driving licence required.
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor:

  • Support the Managing QS and act as the commercial lead across multiple projects.
  • Prepare valuations, applications for payment, and commercial reports in line with contract requirements.
  • Compile detailed cost reports for clients with full contractual supporting documentation.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts from procurement through final account.
  • Administer the contract including change management, variations, extensions of time, and claims.
  • Identify commercial risks, opportunities, and value engineering options throughout the project.
  • Monitor project costs, challenge overspend, and contribute to cost mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure accurate site records, measurement, and documentation are maintained.
  • Prepare cost-to-complete forecasts, cash flow projections, and risk registers.
  • Support junior QS staff through delegation, mentoring, and performance development.
  • Participate in client meetings, commercial reviews, and business improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in tendering and estimating M&E and civils works from first principles.
The Package:

Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of €80,000–€95,000 plus package, depending on experience.
