This specialist engineering contractor has built a strong reputation for delivering complex mechanical and electrical installations on large-scale mission critical developments across Ireland and mainland Europe. Their portfolio includes data centres, pharmaceutical facilities, advanced manufacturing plants and other technically demanding projects.
With a strong pipeline of major data centre projects in Dublin, they are expanding their engineering team and are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in technical delivery from installation through to commissioning.
The Role: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Based on a major data centre project in Dublin, Co Dublin, you will provide technical leadership for the mechanical package while working closely with the Mechanical Lead, Construction Manager and wider project delivery team.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will coordinate mechanical installations, manage technical documentation, oversee subcontractor activities and ensure mechanical systems are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme requirements. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical knowledge, excellent coordination skills and experience delivering large-scale mechanical building services projects.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong background delivering mechanical services on technically complex construction projects. You are confident managing multiple stakeholders while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and programme delivery.
You have excellent technical knowledge, enjoy solving engineering challenges and can coordinate effectively with subcontractors, consultants and client teams throughout every stage of the project.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience delivering mechanical packages on large-scale construction projects such as data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial or other mission critical developments
- Experience working for a mechanical contractor or specialist engineering contractor is required
- Strong understanding of mechanical commissioning, technical submittals and RFI management
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Data centre project experience
- Knowledge of commissioning procedures for mechanical building services
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams
- Familiar with BIM coordination and digital construction platforms
- Strong commercial awareness
- Membership of Engineers Ireland or equivalent professional body
- Experience with cleanroom or pharmaceutical projects
- Knowledge of LEED or sustainable building standards
- Manage technical coordination of the mechanical package throughout project delivery
- Lead client meetings and coordinate all mechanical engineering communications
- Support and mentor Mechanical Engineers and Package Managers
- Manage technical submittals, RFIs and design reviews
- Coordinate mechanical, electrical and CSA interfaces to ensure seamless installation
- Develop and review commissioning documentation for mechanical systems
- Prepare and review method statements and risk assessments
- Monitor installation progress and ensure works remain on programme
- Assist with cost management, change control and variation assessments
- Drive completion of O&M manuals and handover documentation
- Support testing, commissioning and final project handover
