The Role – Senior Mechanical Engineer
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take ownership of mechanical delivery on a major data centre project in Amsterdam. This is a site-based role where you will play a key part in coordinating installations, managing subcontractors, and ensuring all mechanical systems are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest standards.
You will work closely with project management, commercial teams, and clients to drive quality and performance across all phases of the build, from installation through to commissioning and handover.

The Role – Senior Mechanical Engineer
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will take ownership of mechanical delivery on a major data centre project in Amsterdam. This is a site-based role where you will play a key part in coordinating installations, managing subcontractors, and ensuring all mechanical systems are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest standards.
You will work closely with project management, commercial teams, and clients to drive quality and performance across all phases of the build, from installation through to commissioning and handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety standards across all mechanical activities
- Coordinate mechanical installations including HVAC, pipework, and plant systems
- Manage subcontractors and monitor performance against programme milestones
- Oversee quality control and ensure all works meet project specifications
- Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and technical documentation
- Support project planning, sequencing, and delivery of mechanical packages
- Assist with procurement of mechanical equipment and specialist subcontractors
- Track variations, support valuations, and contribute to final account processes
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to maintain clear communication
- Support commissioning activities and ensure smooth system handover
- Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a mechanical engineering role on large-scale construction projects
- Strong background in data centre or industrial projects is highly desirable
- Proven experience managing mechanical installations and subcontractor coordination
- Solid understanding of HVAC systems, pipework, and mechanical plant
- Commercial awareness with experience supporting valuations and variations
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Detail-focused with a proactive approach to problem solving
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, site-based environment
