The Company
Our client is a specialist civil engineering and water infrastructure contractor delivering major water and wastewater projects across Ireland.
The company specialises in complex Design & Build infrastructure projects, combining civil engineering and MEICA expertise to deliver technically challenging schemes to a high standard.
With a strong pipeline of water and wastewater projects, they are seeking an experienced Senior MEICA Estimator to strengthen their tendering and pre-construction team. The position offers a choice of office locations in Galway, Kildare or Cork, with hybrid working available.
The Role: Senior MEICA Estimator
This Senior MEICA Estimator position involves taking responsibility for MEICA estimating, tender-stage design coordination and pricing across major water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Working closely with the civil estimating, design and proposals teams, you will develop competitive tenders while ensuring mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation packages are technically coordinated and commercially sound.
You will also oversee tender-stage design development, manage supplier engagement and contribute to tender strategy, risk assessments and commercial reviews.
The role offers hybrid working, with three days in the office and two days working from home. You can be based in Athenry, Maynooth or Rathcormac.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced MEICA Estimator, Senior M&E Estimator or engineering professional with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems used in construction and infrastructure projects.
You will be confident reviewing technical designs, developing accurate cost estimates and working with civil engineers, designers, suppliers and specialist contractors.
Strong commercial awareness, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing tender deadlines are essential.
You should also be comfortable taking ownership of major tender packages, contributing to commercial decisions and supporting the development of less experienced team members.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have significant construction industry experience, including a strong background in engineering estimating, tendering or pre-construction.
- Proven experience preparing and managing estimates for mechanical, electrical or MEICA packages on construction or infrastructure projects.
- Degree in Engineering, Construction or a relevant technical discipline required.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, procurement processes and technical design coordination.
- Experience managing tender deadlines, reviewing technical documentation and working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Previous experience estimating water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Experience pricing Design & Build infrastructure contracts.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems.
- Experience reviewing P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, technical specifications and MEICA schedules.
- Experience with estimating or planning software.
- Previous experience managing estimators, designers, suppliers or specialist subcontractors.
- Lead MEICA estimating and pricing for major water and wastewater infrastructure tenders.
- Work closely with civil estimating teams to prepare coordinated Design & Build tender submissions.
- Manage tender-stage MEICA design development, including P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, equipment schedules and technical documentation.
- Coordinate internal and external designers, specialist subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare and review detailed MEICA cost estimates, supplier quotations and procurement options.
- Identify tender risks, commercial opportunities and potential value engineering solutions.
- Develop tender strategies and contribute to commercial reviews, tender settlements and final submissions.
- Coordinate MEICA design, construction and commissioning requirements with tender programmes.
- Manage supplier engagement, requests for quotation and technical clarifications.
- Ensure tender documentation is accurate, technically compliant and completed within agreed deadlines.
- Coordinate successful tender handovers to project delivery teams.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to junior estimators and engineering personnel.
