An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major data centre project in Austria. This is a career-defining role with a company renowned across Europe for delivering high-specification, fast-track builds in the data, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

The Project: Breagh Recruitment is working on behalf of an internationally respected design-and-build contractor with a growing footprint across the DACH region. The current flagship project is a state-of-the-art data centre a mission-critical development designed to support hyperscale and enterprise operations, incorporating high-density MEP systems, stringent uptime requirements, and ambitious sustainability targets.
The successful candidate will join a team known for delivering technically advanced facilities under challenging programmes, often in live or high-sensitivity environments.
The Role: The Senior Project Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team through the full lifecycle of this large-scale data centre development – from planning and design through to commissioning and handover. You will ensure every stage of the project aligns with the client's operational and commercial requirements, as well as local regulations and global best practices.
This role offers strategic influence, close collaboration with executive stakeholders, and the chance to work on cutting-edge digital infrastructure that will shape the region's technological future.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of a major data centre construction project to time, cost, and quality benchmarks.
- Manage all phases of the project including procurement, programme development, cost control, and compliance.
- Coordinate design and construction teams, focusing on high-performance MEP integration.
- Uphold all relevant Austrian and EU construction, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Report to client leadership and internal stakeholders with clear project governance and progress updates.
- Implement robust risk, change, and quality management frameworks.
- Drive digital-first delivery using BIM and cloud-based project management systems.
- Provide expert insight on procurement strategy, contract administration, and value engineering.
Candidate Profile: Essential:
- Degree-qualified in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
- 7+ years’ experience in project management of complex, high-specification buildings.
- Proven success in managing large technical projects with heavy MEP content (data centre/pharma/cleanroom ideal).
- Familiarity with EU procurement law, construction regulations, and project delivery frameworks.
- Fluent in English, with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- German language skills or willingness to develop them are strongly advantageous.
- Experience with fast-track or mission-critical builds.
- Proficiency with BIM (Autodesk Revit/Navisworks) and project platforms (e.g. Aconex, Procore).
- Recognised project management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2).
