The Company
This international main contractor delivers technically complex design and builds projects across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe, with a particular focus on data centres, pharmaceutical, food, logistics and advanced manufacturing projects.
With a strong pipeline of work across Ireland and Europe, they are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to their commercial team based in Co Kildare.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will report to the Commercial Director and take responsibility for the contractual and financial management of construction projects.
You will work closely with Project Directors, Site Managers, clients and the supply chain, managing cost control, procurement, valuations, contracts, variations and commercial reporting throughout project delivery.
Must Have Requirements
• Must have strong experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on construction projects
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline required
• Strong knowledge of cost control, procurement, valuations and contract administration required
• Proven commercial and financial management experience required
Preferred Experience
• Data centre, pharmaceutical, logistics, food or advanced manufacturing experience beneficial
• COINS experience would be an advantage
• RICS, CIOB or similar professional accreditation preferred
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare project cost estimates, budgets and cost analysis
• Monitor project costs and prepare monthly financial and CVR reports
• Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering and commercial evaluation
• Prepare valuations, payment applications and variations
• Manage subcontractor contracts, payments and commercial documentation
• Administer contracts and manage project change control
• Work closely with Project Directors and Site Managers on project cost control
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project team
About You
You are an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial background in construction.
You will have a good understanding of construction methods, contracts, procurement and cost management, along with strong numerical, analytical and negotiation skills.
You will be comfortable working closely with senior project teams and managing multiple commercial priorities while maintaining accurate cost control and reporting.
