This Irish main contractor delivers building projects across Waterford, Kilkenny and the wider South East, with a strong pipeline of work across education, residential, healthcare and commercial construction.

The company has a solid regional presence and offers the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio of projects without the need for regular travel to Dublin.


The Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of building projects across Waterford and Kilkenny, working closely with the Commercial Manager, Project Managers and site teams.

You will manage projects from procurement through to final account, maintaining strong cost control while managing subcontractor accounts, variations, valuations and commercial reporting.


Must Have Requirements

• Must have 6+ years’ Quantity Surveying experience within the construction industry
• Proven experience required in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Project Quantity Surveyor capacity
• Main contractor experience on building projects in Ireland is required
• Strong knowledge of subcontractor procurement, cost control and contract administration

Preferred Experience

• Experience across education, residential, healthcare or commercial projects preferred
• Previous experience managing multiple building projects beneficial
• Strong knowledge of the South East construction market advantageous

Key Responsibilities

• Take commercial responsibility for projects across Waterford and Kilkenny
• Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering and appointments
• Prepare valuations, cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates
• Manage variations, claims and subcontractor accounts
• Monitor project costs, budgets and commercial risk
• Negotiate and agree final accounts
• Work closely with site teams to monitor progress and cost
• Support junior members of the commercial team where required

About You

You will be an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong main contractor background and a practical understanding of commercial management on building projects.

You should be comfortable taking ownership of projects, dealing directly with subcontractors and working alongside site management to keep costs, procurement and programme aligned.
