The Company

A major engineering contractor delivering large scale civil engineering, energy and infrastructure projects across Ireland.
The company has a strong track record in managing complex construction works, with a particular focus on safety, programme delivery and technical standards. With a healthy pipeline of projects across the energy and infrastructure sectors, they are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager for a project in Co Clare.


The Role: Site Manager

An experienced Site Manager is required to oversee the civil engineering works on a major energy infrastructure project in Co Clare.
You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site activities, coordinating civil subcontractors, managing site resources and ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Working closely with the Project Manager, engineering team and specialist subcontractors, you will play a key role in managing construction activities from initial groundworks through to completion and handover.
This position would suit a Site Manager with a strong civil engineering background who is comfortable managing multiple work packages on a busy construction site.


Must Have Requirements

• Must have 5+ years' experience in site management or civil engineering construction.
• Proven experience managing civil works on infrastructure, energy or large scale construction projects.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors, site teams and construction programmes.
• Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety regulations and construction quality standards.
• Previous experience working with a main contractor or engineering contractor in Ireland is required.

Preferred Experience

• Experience delivering energy, power or renewable infrastructure projects.
• Background in reinforced concrete, foundations, drainage, utilities and associated civil works.
• Experience coordinating civil works alongside mechanical and electrical installations.
• Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily civil engineering activities, ensuring works progress in line with the construction programme.
• Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, plant and materials across site.
• Oversee groundworks, foundations, drainage, concrete works and associated infrastructure.
• Maintain high standards of health and safety, quality control and environmental compliance.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and engineering team to resolve technical and site issues.
• Monitor progress, maintain site records and report on programme milestones.
• Coordinate inspections, quality documentation and handover requirements.
• Ensure construction activities are completed safely, efficiently and to specification.

About You

You are an experienced Site Manager with a practical understanding of civil engineering construction and the ability to manage site operations independently.
You will have a strong background in coordinating subcontractors, managing construction programmes and maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.

Experience on energy infrastructure, utilities or major civil engineering projects would be particularly relevant.

You will be organised, commercially aware and confident working with engineers, subcontractors and senior project management to keep works moving.
