Role Overview:

The BCAR Coordinator will be responsible for managing and overseeing the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2014 compliance process on major construction projects in Dublin. You will work closely with the Assigned Certifier, Design Certifiers, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure all regulatory documentation is accurately prepared, submitted, and approved via the BCMS portal.

This role is key to ensuring successful, timely, and fully compliant project completions.

  Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the BCAR process from project commencement to completion

  • Prepare, submit, and track all BCAR documentation including:

    • Commencement Notices

    • Design Certificates

    • Inspection Plans

    • As-built drawings and product certificates

    • Upload and maintain all compliance documents on the BCMS portal

    • Liaise with Assigned Certifiers, Design Certifiers, site teams, subcontractors, and local authorities

    • Maintain and update BCAR trackers, ensuring full compliance before key project milestones

    • Coordinate inspections and manage records of tests, material certifications, and compliance reports

    • Prepare and submit the Certificate of Compliance on Completion to secure project handover


      Skills & Experience Required:
      • 3+ years’ experience in a BCAR Coordinator role or similar (Document Controller, QA Coordinator, Site Engineer with BCAR exposure)

      • Strong knowledge of Irish Building Regulations and the BCAR process

      • Proficiency in the BCMS portal and document management systems (Aconex, Procore, SharePoint)

      • Ability to interpret and work with technical drawings and specifications

      • Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail

      • Strong communication skills to coordinate with multiple stakeholders

      • Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines

        Qualifications:
      • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architectural Technology, or Building Surveying preferred

      • BCAR / BCMS system training (formal or on-the-job) desirable
