The Role – BMS Commissioning Engineer
As a BMS Commissioning Engineer, you will take ownership of the commissioning phase of complex Building Management Systems on a major data centre project in Kildare. You will play a key role in ensuring all BMS controls, interfaces and integrations are fully tested, validated and handed over in line with client expectations and industry standards.
This is a site based role with responsibility for delivering structured commissioning processes across HVAC plant, critical cooling systems, UPS interfaces and energy management systems. Your work will directly impact performance, reliability and operational efficiency on a high profile mission critical facility.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage end to end BMS commissioning activities on a live data centre project
- Develop and implement commissioning plans, scripts and method statements
- Carry out point to point testing, loop checks and system integration testing
- Coordinate with mechanical and electrical commissioning teams to ensure seamless interface between systems
- Review BMS drawings, panel layouts, I O schedules and control philosophies
- Oversee subcontract BMS technicians and specialist commissioning teams
- Witness and support client Factory Acceptance Testing and Site Acceptance Testing
- Maintain accurate commissioning records, reports and handover documentation
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with health and safety standards and project programme
- Background in Building Management Systems, controls engineering or electrical engineering
- Proven experience as a BMS Commissioning Engineer on data centre or large commercial projects
- Strong knowledge of HVAC plant controls, chillers, CRAC units, AHUs and energy management systems
- Experience with leading BMS platforms such as Trend, Siemens, Schneider, Honeywell or similar
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, control schematics and specifications
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to commissioning
- Clear communicator capable of working with clients, consultants and multidisciplinary site teams
- Focused on quality, compliance and structured handover processes
