The Company
This well-established Irish engineering contractor has built a strong reputation for delivering complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Ireland. Working closely with public utilities and industrial clients, the company provides complete MEICA solutions covering design, engineering, installation, commissioning and long-term asset delivery.
With a growing order book and continued investment in major infrastructure projects, they are now seeking an experienced Contract Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams and oversee the successful delivery of multiple water industry projects from initial design through to final handover.
The Role: Contract Manager
Based from the company's office in Co Carlow with hybrid working available, this senior Contract Manager role will take responsibility for the delivery of several water and wastewater infrastructure projects simultaneously.
You will lead Project Managers, site teams, engineers, commercial staff and subcontractors while maintaining full responsibility for programme delivery, commercial performance, quality and health & safety. Acting as the Contractor's Representative, you will be the key point of contact for clients, consultants and project stakeholders throughout every stage of project delivery.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Project Manager looking to step into a senior leadership position within Ireland's expanding water sector.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced Contract Manager, Senior Project Manager or Contracts Engineer with a strong background delivering complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure projects. You have excellent commercial awareness, understand the importance of programme delivery, and can confidently lead multidisciplinary teams while maintaining strong client relationships.
You are comfortable balancing office-based project management with regular site visits and enjoy working in a fast-moving technical environment where safety, quality and customer satisfaction remain the priority.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 15 years' Mechanical or Electrical Engineering experience with significant Project Management responsibility.
- Proven experience delivering large-scale infrastructure, utilities or MEICA projects.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams and multiple live projects simultaneously.
- Strong commercial, contractual and financial management experience.
- Excellent leadership and client management skills are essential.
- Previous experience within the Irish water or wastewater sector.
- Knowledge of MEICA installations, treatment plants and process engineering.
- Experience acting as PSCS and coordinating PSDP duties.
- Strong understanding of public works contracts and client specifications.
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience with modern project management software.
- Chartered Engineer status or professional membership.
- Background in commissioning and plant start-up activities.
- Lead the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from design through commissioning and handover.
- Manage and mentor a team of Project Managers, engineers and site personnel.
- Develop and monitor project programmes, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Coordinate design development, technical submissions and client approvals.
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers and directly employed mechanical and electrical crews.
- Oversee project commercial performance including variations, cashflow, interim applications and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation while fulfilling PSCS responsibilities on live projects.
- Prepare and review Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Quality documentation.
- Attend regular client meetings and provide clear progress reporting throughout project delivery.
- Carry out site inspections, safety audits and quality reviews across multiple projects.
- Ensure document control, vendor documentation and as-built information are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
