The Company
This established Irish engineering contractor has built a strong reputation for delivering complex MEICA solutions across the water and wastewater sector. Working in partnership with public utility clients and local authorities, they manage projects from initial design through construction, installation, commissioning and handover.
With a growing portfolio of water treatment plants, pumping stations and wastewater infrastructure projects nationwide, they are expanding their senior management team and are looking for an experienced Contract Manager to oversee the successful delivery of multiple projects across Ireland.
The Role: Contract Manager
Based from the company's headquarters in Carlow with hybrid working available, this Contract Manager role will lead the delivery of multiple water and wastewater infrastructure projects from preconstruction through to commissioning and client handover.
You will manage multidisciplinary teams across design, engineering, commercial, construction and commissioning while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Reporting to senior leadership, you will work closely with Project Managers, design engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives, acting as the main point of contact throughout each contract.
Must Have Requirements
You are an experienced Contract Manager or Senior Project Manager with a strong engineering background and a proven track record delivering complex infrastructure projects.
You have excellent leadership skills and are comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service. Strong commercial awareness, communication skills and technical knowledge allow you to build lasting relationships with clients, consultants and project teams.
Experience within the Irish water and wastewater sector would be highly advantageous, although candidates from related MEICA, utilities, energy or industrial sectors will also be considered.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have 15+ years' experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with significant Project Management or Contract Management experience.
- Proven experience delivering large infrastructure, MEICA or industrial engineering projects.
- Strong commercial, contractual and programme management experience is required.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams and subcontractors.
- Full driving licence with willingness to travel to project sites across Ireland.
- Water or wastewater industry experience preferred.
- Experience managing commissioning and handover phases.
- Knowledge of PSDP and PSCS responsibilities.
- Experience working with public sector clients and engineering consultants.
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering.
- Project Management qualification.
- Experience using project management and document control systems.
- Lead the successful delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from design through commissioning.
- Manage Project Managers across multiple live contracts.
- Oversee project planning, procurement, construction, installation and final handover.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
- Review client specifications and coordinate with design teams throughout project delivery.
- Manage contract programmes and monitor progress against key milestones.
- Act as Contractor's Representative and maintain strong client relationships.
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and directly employed mechanical and electrical crews.
- Prepare technical submissions, reports, method statements and risk assessments.
- Oversee quality assurance and project documentation.
- Manage project cashflow, interim applications, variations and commercial reporting.
- Carry out regular site visits, safety audits and project inspections.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Produce monthly project reports covering costs, revenue, work in progress and project performance.
- Recruit, mentor and support project delivery teams as required.
