The Company

This international engineering contractor delivers complex electrical, power, renewables, data centre, pharmaceutical, and infrastructure projects across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe.

With a significant portfolio of secured power and energy projects over the coming years, the company continues to expand its commercial team and is now seeking an Electrical Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major substation, cable, and high-voltage infrastructure projects across Ireland.

The Role: Electrical Quantity Surveyor

This Electrical Quantity Surveyor role will focus on the commercial delivery of high-voltage electrical infrastructure projects, including substations, switchgear installations, cable works, and power transmission projects.

Working closely with Project Managers, Planning Engineers, clients, subcontractors, and the wider commercial team, you will be responsible for cost control, contract administration, valuations, variations, subcontractor management, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Must Have Requirements
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline required
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on electrical, utilities, infrastructure, or construction projects
  • Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial management
  • Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, and final accounts
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills required
Preferred Experience
  • High-voltage, substation, power, or renewables project experience preferred
  • Technical background as an Electrician, Instrumentation Technician, or Electrical Engineer beneficial
  • Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or Public Works Contracts advantageous
  • Strong Excel and commercial reporting skills preferred
Nice to Have
  • Experience on utility-scale renewable energy projects
  • Exposure to transmission and distribution projects
  • Knowledge of cost management software and digital reporting systems
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, BOQs, profit plans, and commercial reports
  • Manage interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts
  • Attend and lead commercial meetings with clients and project teams
  • Manage subcontractor accounts and ensure payments are processed in accordance with contract terms
  • Track project costs and monitor commercial performance throughout delivery
  • Identify and manage variations, compensation events, and contractual claims
  • Work closely with Planning Engineers to ensure accurate progress reporting
  • Cost and agree site changes, dayworks, and contract variations
  • Maintain detailed commercial records and supporting documentation
  • Identify commercial risks and escalate issues to senior management where required
  • Support contract administration and ensure compliance with client requirements
  • Assist with negotiations and commercial close-out activities
About You

You are a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with experience delivering infrastructure, utilities, electrical, or construction projects.

You have strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and can confidently manage commercial relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.

You are proactive, commercially aware, and capable of working independently while supporting wider project delivery objectives.
