With a healthy pipeline of residential projects, they are now seeking a Project Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on a 40-unit residential development in Donegal, Co Donegal. The Role: Project Quantity Surveyor
Based on a residential development in Donegal, Co Donegal, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day commercial management of the project, working closely with the site team, subcontractors, and senior commercial management.
You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring effective cost control, subcontractor management, valuations, variations, and reporting while helping to deliver the project on budget and in line with programme requirements.
Must Have Requirements:
• Must have a Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
• Proven experience required as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor or residential developer
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts, valuations, and variations
• Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial reporting
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Preferred Experience
• Residential construction experience preferred
• Experience on housing developments beneficial
• Knowledge of procurement and cost planning processes
• Experience using industry-standard commercial software
Nice to Have:
• Professional membership or progression towards chartership
• Strong knowledge of Irish construction contracts
• Additional project management exposure
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage project costs and commercial reporting throughout the project lifecycle
• Prepare and agree subcontractor packages, valuations, and final accounts
• Monitor project budgets and identify commercial risks and opportunities
• Assess and manage variations and change control procedures
• Support procurement activities and subcontractor negotiations
• Liaise with site management teams regarding progress and cost control
• Prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts
• Assist in maintaining profitability and commercial performance on the project
About You:
You will be a commercially aware Quantity Surveyor with experience working on construction projects in Ireland. You will have strong organisational skills, a good understanding of project cost management, and the ability to work closely with operational teams to ensure successful programme delivery.
You should be comfortable managing subcontractor accounts, handling variations, preparing reports, and maintaining strong commercial controls throughout the project. Experience within residential construction would be highly advantageous for this Project Quantity Surveyor position in Donegal, Co Donegal.
