The Company

This established Irish contractor has developed a strong reputation for delivering high quality off site manufacturing and modular construction solutions across commercial, healthcare, pharmaceutical and industrial projects throughout Ireland and Europe.

Operating within a technically driven construction environment, the company continues to grow its prefabrication and manufacturing division due to increased demand for fast-track delivery, quality control and modern construction methods. Their teams are heavily involved in preconstruction planning, cost management and technical coordination from early design stages through to project delivery.

The Role: Estimator

This is a key Estimator role within a busy off site manufacturing and prefabrication division based in Dublin, Co Dublin.

You will work closely with the commercial, preconstruction and operations teams preparing detailed cost estimates for modular construction, prefabricated systems and manufacturing packages across a range of construction projects.

The successful Estimator will play an important role in tender analysis, supplier pricing, value engineering and commercial planning while ensuring competitive and accurate submissions are delivered on time.

This role suits an Estimator with strong construction knowledge who understands manufacturing processes, prefabrication or modern methods of construction.

Must Have Requirements:

•  Must have previous experience as an Estimator within construction, engineering, manufacturing or modular projects
•  Proven experience required preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
•  Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and commercial documentation
•  Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers and procurement teams is required
•  Strong IT skills including Excel and estimating software

Preferred Experience:

• Off site manufacturing or modular construction experience preferred
• Mechanical, electrical or specialist subcontractor background beneficial
• Experience with value engineering and preconstruction planning
• Irish construction market experience advantageous

Nice to Have:

•  Relevant construction, engineering or quantity surveying qualification
•  BIM or digital construction exposure beneficial
•  Knowledge of prefabricated MEP systems advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

•  Prepare detailed estimates and cost plans for off site manufacturing and modular construction projects
•  Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
•  Issue enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers and analyse returned quotations
•  Assist with procurement planning and commercial strategy during preconstruction
•  Identify value engineering opportunities and alternative construction solutions
•  Prepare tender submissions, pricing breakdowns and commercial reports
•  Liaise with design, manufacturing and operations teams throughout the tender process
•  Attend internal handover meetings with project delivery teams
•  Monitor market rates, material pricing and supplier trends within the Irish construction sector
•  Support senior commercial management with bid preparation and project costing

About You

You will come from an Estimator, Quantity Surveyor or commercial background within construction, manufacturing or engineering.

You should be commercially aware, technically strong and capable of managing multiple tenders simultaneously within a fast-moving preconstruction environment.

The ideal Estimator will have strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work closely with suppliers, subcontractors and internal project teams to deliver accurate and competitive pricing.
