The Company
This established Irish main contractor has a strong track record delivering large scale building projects across healthcare, commercial, residential and public sector construction.
The contractor is preparing to commence a major healthcare project in Co Wexford, with construction due to begin shortly. The project is valued at approximately €60 million with an expected programme of 18 to 24 months, providing good project security and long term work in the South East.
The Role: Health & Safety Advisor
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will be based on this €60 million healthcare project in Wexford, working closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, subcontractors and wider site team.
You will take a hands on role in managing day to day health and safety across the project, carrying out inspections, maintaining site documentation and ensuring works are completed in line with company procedures and Irish health and safety legislation.
With the project starting shortly, you will also have involvement from the early stages, helping establish strong safety procedures before the main construction programme gets fully underway.

About You
You are an experienced Health & Safety Advisor with a practical understanding of how a large construction site operates.
You will be comfortable working directly with site management, trades and subcontractors and able to deal with safety issues professionally when they arise. Strong attention to detail is important, but equally important is the ability to communicate clearly and maintain good standards across a busy site.
Experience on healthcare, commercial or other large scale building projects would suit this position particularly well.

Must Have Requirements:
- Must have previous experience as a Health & Safety Advisor within the Irish construction industry
- A relevant Health & Safety qualification is required
- Strong working knowledge of Irish construction health and safety legislation and site procedures
- Proven experience carrying out site inspections, audits and safety documentation
- Must be confident dealing directly with site management and subcontractors
Preferred Experience
- Healthcare or large scale building project experience preferred
- Main contractor experience beneficial
- Experience working on projects with multiple subcontractors and busy site operations
- Strong knowledge of RAMS, toolbox talks, site inductions and permit systems
- Support the management of health and safety across the Wexford healthcare project
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety walks
- Review RAMS and ensure subcontractors are working in accordance with agreed procedures
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and site documentation
- Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are followed through
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and subcontractors to maintain safe working practices
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations and close out actions where required
- Monitor compliance with company procedures and Irish health and safety legislation
- Promote practical health and safety standards without impacting unnecessarily on programme delivery
