The Role: Health & Safety Graduate
Based on a major data centre construction project in Milan, this Health & Safety Graduate position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced EHS professionals while gaining practical site experience in a live construction environment.
You will support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental standards across the project, assisting with inspections, audits, reporting, and compliance activities. The role provides exposure to all aspects of construction safety management on a large-scale project while helping to build the foundations for a long-term career in construction health and safety.
Working closely with site management, subcontractors, and project teams, you will play an active role in promoting a positive safety culture and ensuring high standards are maintained throughout project delivery.
Must Have Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
• Expected graduation between 2025 and 2026
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and construction safety principles
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Full eligibility to work within the EU
Preferred Experience:
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
• Previous placement or internship experience within construction or engineering
• Experience using EHS reporting systems or management software
• Knowledge of data centre, industrial, or large-scale construction environments beneficial
Nice to Have:
• NEBOSH Certificate
• IOSH qualification
• Experience participating in safety audits or risk assessments
• Additional environmental or sustainability training
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the development and implementation of Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Support site risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work
• Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation
• Participate in site inspections, audits, and safety reviews
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective action plans
• Maintain accurate EHS records, reports, and documentation
• Support toolbox talks and safety awareness initiatives across the project team
• Liaise with subcontractors, site management, and project stakeholders on EHS matters
• Promote positive safety behaviours and environmental awareness on site
• Assist with monitoring project compliance against company and client requirements
