The Company
This Irish main contractor delivers a broad range of construction projects across Cork and throughout Ireland, with experience spanning residential, commercial, healthcare, pharmaceutical and other technically demanding developments.
The company has a strong pipeline of work and a reputation for maintaining high standards across health and safety, quality and programme delivery. They are currently delivering a multi million euro pharmaceutical project in Cork, Co Cork, and are looking to strengthen the site team with an Intermediate Health & Safety Advisor.
The Role: Intermediate Health & Safety Advisor
As Intermediate Health & Safety Advisor, you will work closely with the Project Manager, site management team and subcontractors on a major pharmaceutical construction project in Cork.
You will support the day to day implementation of site health and safety procedures, carrying out inspections and audits, reviewing RAMS and permits, and ensuring works are being completed in line with project procedures and Irish health and safety legislation.
This is a hands on site based position where you will have real responsibility for maintaining safety standards across a busy construction project.

Key Responsibilities
About You
You will have practical Health & Safety experience within the Irish construction sector and be comfortable working directly with site teams, trades and subcontractors.
You should be confident identifying issues, raising concerns and following actions through to completion. Experience on pharmaceutical projects would be beneficial, but candidates coming from large residential, commercial, healthcare or similar main contractor projects will also be considered.
You will need to be organised, approachable and capable of maintaining strong safety standards while working alongside the wider project team to keep works progressing safely and to programme.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have 2+ years’ experience as a Health & Safety Advisor on construction projects
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification is required
- Proven experience carrying out site inspections, audits and reviewing RAMS
- Must be confident dealing directly with site management, supervisors and subcontractors
- Good working knowledge of Irish construction health and safety requirements
Preferred Experience
- Pharmaceutical or life sciences project experience preferred
- Previous experience with an Irish main contractor beneficial
- Experience on large scale commercial, healthcare or technically demanding building projects
- Familiarity with permit systems and detailed site safety documentation
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular health and safety inspections and audits across the Cork project
- Work closely with site management to maintain strong health and safety standards
- Review RAMS, permits and subcontractor safety documentation
- Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are followed through to close out
- Deliver toolbox talks and assist with site inductions where required
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with site and project safety procedures
- Assist with incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions
- Maintain accurate health and safety records and project documentation
