The Role: Intermediate Mechanical Estimator
Based in Co Tyrone, this Intermediate Mechanical Estimator role will see you working within a busy preconstruction and commercial team preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical building services packages.
You will work closely with project managers, suppliers, subcontractors and design teams to review tender enquiries, analyse specifications and prepare competitive tender submissions across a range of construction projects.
This role suits a Mechanical Estimator with experience in HVAC, pipework and plumbing systems who is looking to progress within a growing mechanical contractor environment.
Must Have Requirements
You will come from a mechanical contracting or building services background with experience preparing estimates for construction projects. You should be comfortable reviewing technical information, pricing mechanical services works and working closely with internal project teams.
The successful Intermediate Mechanical Estimator will be organised, commercially aware and capable of managing multiple tenders while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.

- Must have experience working as a Mechanical Estimator, Building Services Estimator or MEP Estimator
- Proven experience required within mechanical contracting or building services construction
- Strong understanding of HVAC, pipework and mechanical services packages
- Experience interpreting construction drawings and tender documentation is required
- Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills
- Experience pricing commercial, industrial or residential projects preferred
- Exposure to value engineering and cost planning beneficial
- Experience working with suppliers and subcontractor procurement advantageous
- Knowledge of Irish or UK construction contracts beneficial
- Prepare detailed mechanical estimates and tender costings
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Measure and quantify HVAC, pipework and plumbing systems
- Issue enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers and assess quotations
- Compile competitive and commercially accurate tender submissions
- Identify value engineering opportunities and commercial risks
- Liaise with design, engineering and project delivery teams throughout tender stages
- Attend tender review meetings and support bid strategy discussions
- Maintain estimating records, pricing databases and cost information
- Support successful project handover to commercial and delivery teams
