The Company
A well-established Irish civil engineering contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across Ireland, with a strong track record across roads, earthworks, drainage, utilities and structures.
They have a solid pipeline of civil engineering work in Kerry and the wider Munster region and are looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor.
The Role: Intermediate Quantity Surveyor
Based in Co Kerry, you will work as part of the commercial team managing the financial and contractual aspects of civil engineering projects from procurement through to final account.
You will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, Project Manager and site teams, ensuring costs are controlled, variations are captured and subcontractor accounts are managed effectively.
Must Have Requirements:
About You
You will have at least 5 years post-graduate Quantity Surveying experience, ideally gained with a civil engineering contractor in Ireland.
You should be commercially aware, comfortable working with Irish construction contracts and have practical experience across civil works such as roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks or structures. Strong communication and negotiation skills are important, along with the ability to work closely with operational site teams.

- Proven experience required on civil engineering projects including earthworks, roadworks, drainage, utilities or structures
- Strong knowledge of Irish construction contracts is required
- Experience working with a civil engineering contractor in Ireland is required
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of subcontractor procurement and commercial reporting
- Experience managing variations, valuations and final accounts
- Manage project costs, budgets and commercial reporting
- Prepare and assess subcontractor packages, payments and final accounts
- Identify, price and manage variations
- Prepare valuations and cost reports
- Monitor project expenditure against budget
- Work closely with site teams to maintain accurate commercial records
- Assist with contractual correspondence and ensure compliance with contract requirements
- Support the commercial delivery of civil engineering projects through to final account
About You
