The Role: Intermediate Quantity Surveyor
This Intermediate Quantity Surveyor position is based on a major construction project in North Dublin, Co Dublin. Working alongside a Senior Quantity Surveyor and experienced project team, you will play a key role in the commercial management of the project from procurement through to final account.
The successful Intermediate Quantity Surveyor will gain exposure to all aspects of cost management, subcontractor procurement, contract administration, valuations, variations, and commercial reporting while helping ensure the project is delivered within budget.
This role offers excellent career progression for a Quantity Surveyor looking to develop within a leading main contractor environment.
Must Have Requirements:
• Must have a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
• Proven experience required with a main contractor or reputable construction company
• Must have 2 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor on construction projects
• Strong understanding of procurement, cost control, valuations, and contract administration
• Experience working on commercial, residential, healthcare, or large-scale building projects is required
Preferred Experience:
• Experience using CostX, Cubit, Excel, or similar commercial software
• Exposure to public works contracts or standard building contracts
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and variations
• Strong reporting and commercial presentation skills
Nice to Have:
• Membership or progression towards SCSI or RICS accreditation
• Experience on large-scale commercial construction projects
• Knowledge of BIM and digital construction processes
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with cost planning, budgeting, and commercial forecasting
• Manage subcontractor procurement, tender analysis, and package awards
• Prepare interim valuations and support final account negotiations
• Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities
• Assist with variations, claims, and change management procedures
• Support subcontractor payment assessments and account management
• Produce accurate commercial reports for senior management
• Liaise closely with site management and project delivery teams
• Maintain strong cost control throughout the project lifecycle
• Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in achieving project commercial objectives
About You
