We are seeking a proactive and motivated Junior Electrical Engineer to join an engineering team in Cork City. You will play a key role in supporting design, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems in a variety of industrial, commercial, and residential projects.

Junior Electrical Engineer Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 1-2 years’ experience in electrical engineering
- Familiarity with electrical design tools (e.g. AutoCAD, EPlan, Revit, ETAP, etc.).
- Understanding of power systems, lighting, protection and control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills; the ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel to sites and work at heights or in confined spaces occasionally.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and safety standards (e.g. National Rules for Electrical Installations in Ireland, IEC, etc.).
- Proactive, self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and grow in the role.
As a Junior Electrical Engineer:
- Assist in the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control, and instrumentation.
- Prepare electrical schematics, single line diagrams, cable schedules, and wiring diagrams using CAD / electrical design tools.
- Perform equipment selection, sizing, and specification (transformers, switchgear, protective devices, motors, etc.).
- Support site installation, supervision, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and safety practices.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and provide technical support to operations or client teams.
- Work with cross-discipline engineering teams (mechanical, civil, automation) to ensure integration of electrical elements.
- Contribute to project documentation (installation instructions, operation manuals, test records).
- Assist with cost estimation, bill of materials, and procurement of electrical components.
- Stay up to date with industry standards and regulations (e.g. Irish and European wiring rules, IEC, etc.).
