Junior Mechanical Engineer Skills:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
- 1-2 years of experience in a site or design-based mechanical engineering role (experience in healthcare or building services is a plus but not essential).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications.
- Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD or Navisworks is beneficial.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced project environment.
- Irish construction experience
As a Junior Mechanical Engineer:
- Assist in the coordination and supervision of mechanical installations on-site, including HVAC, medical gases, domestic services, and associated systems.
- Review mechanical design drawings and specifications, raising queries and assisting in resolving coordination issues.
- Work with the site engineering and project management teams to monitor progress and ensure quality control of mechanical works.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of daily and weekly reports, including site records, RFI logs, and material trackers.
- Attend technical and progress meetings, recording actions and following up with relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with commissioning and handover activities including witnessing testing procedures and preparing relevant documentation.
- Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of works.
- Adhere to site safety standards and participate in safety briefings and toolbox talks.
