Junior Mechanical Engineer

Junior Mechanical Engineer Skills:  

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• 1-2 years of experience in a site or design-based mechanical engineering role (experience in healthcare or building services is a plus but not essential).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and interpret specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with AutoCAD or Navisworks is beneficial.
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced project environment.
• Irish construction experience

As a Junior Mechanical Engineer:  

• Assist in the coordination and supervision of mechanical installations on-site, including HVAC, medical gases, domestic services, and associated systems.
• Review mechanical design drawings and specifications, raising queries and assisting in resolving coordination issues.
• Work with the site engineering and project management teams to monitor progress and ensure quality control of mechanical works.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of daily and weekly reports, including site records, RFI logs, and material trackers.
• Attend technical and progress meetings, recording actions and following up with relevant stakeholders.
• Assist with commissioning and handover activities including witnessing testing procedures and preparing relevant documentation.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of works.
• Adhere to site safety standards and participate in safety briefings and toolbox talks.

The Package:

Salary will be DOE, but you can expect between €35k - €40k plus package.
