The Company
This established civil engineering contractor delivers some of Ireland's most important water and wastewater infrastructure projects, working closely with public sector clients on major treatment plants, pumping stations and utility upgrades throughout the West and Southwest of Ireland.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting the successful delivery of Mechanical and Electrical packages across multiple water and wastewater projects.
The Role: M&E Quantity Surveyor
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in the commercial management of Mechanical and Electrical works from tender stage through to final account.
Working closely with Project Managers, Site Engineers, Design Teams and subcontractors, you will ensure projects are commercially controlled, contractually compliant and delivered within budget while identifying opportunities to maximise value throughout the project lifecycle.
This role offers excellent long-term career prospects with exposure to a wide variety of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across the West and Southwest of Ireland.
Must Have Requirements
You are an ambitious M&E Quantity Surveyor looking to build your career within the water and wastewater infrastructure sector.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have 2–3 years' experience in an M&E Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role.
- Experience managing Mechanical and Electrical project costs within construction, utilities or infrastructure projects.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Experience on water or wastewater treatment projects.
- Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical installations.
- Experience preparing valuations, cost reports and cashflow forecasts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Quantity Surveying software.
- Understanding of Irish forms of construction contract.
- Experience working with a civil engineering or utilities contractor.
- Knowledge of NEC or Public Works Contracts.
- Professional membership or progress towards chartership.
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation for Mechanical and Electrical works.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and assist with procurement of M&E packages.
- Measure and value completed works and prepare interim valuations and payment applications.
- Monitor project costs and produce accurate cost reports, forecasts and cashflow projections.
- Manage variations, claims and change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and site teams to achieve commercial objectives.
- Attend project meetings and provide commercial advice to the delivery team.
- Assist with project forecasting and financial reporting.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.
- Support final account preparation and commercial close-out of projects.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure contractual compliance.
