They are now looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a major multi-million-euro data centre development in Finland. With continued activity across the European data centre sector, this is an opportunity to gain international experience on a substantial construction project.
The Role: Quantity Surveyor
As Quantity Surveyor, you'll take responsibility for the commercial management of assigned construction packages on a major data centre development in Finland.
Working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager and wider project team, you'll manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations, cost reporting and procurement to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
You'll be involved throughout the construction programme, working alongside site management and engineering teams to monitor costs, manage contractual obligations and ensure subcontractor packages are delivered within budget.
This role will suit a commercially aware Quantity Surveyor who is confident managing subcontractors and taking ownership of substantial construction packages.
Must Have Requirements
You'll be an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial background in main contracting or specialist construction, ideally gained on substantial data centre, industrial or commercial developments.
You'll have a good understanding of subcontractor management, procurement, cost control and construction contracts, along with the ability to work closely with site teams to keep commercial matters moving.
Strong communication and negotiation skills are important, as is the ability to manage several packages, maintain accurate reporting and identify potential commercial risks before they affect project performance.
Previous European construction experience would be beneficial, but a strong background in Irish construction is equally relevant.

- Must have a relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
- Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor or specialist construction contractor.
- Strong experience in subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations and cost reporting.
- Good understanding of construction contracts, cost management and commercial procedures.
- Must be willing to work on a data centre construction project in Finland.
- Data centre or mission-critical construction experience preferred.
- Previous experience working on European construction projects beneficial.
- Experience managing substantial building, mechanical or electrical packages.
- Familiarity with NEC or other relevant construction contracts.
- Strong Excel skills and experience using construction cost management software.
- Manage the commercial performance of assigned construction packages on the data centre development.
- Prepare and review subcontractor valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
- Assist with subcontractor procurement, tender analysis and contract administration.
- Identify, assess and manage variations and contractual changes.
- Prepare accurate cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates.
- Monitor project expenditure against budgets and agreed commercial targets.
- Work closely with the Commercial Manager and site teams to identify and manage commercial risks.
- Maintain accurate records of subcontractor accounts, variations and project costs.
- Attend commercial meetings and contribute to project progress reporting.
- Support the preparation, negotiation and agreement of final accounts.
