Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor – M&E Projects

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team based in Waterford.

This role will suit a QS with strong exposure to M&E works who is comfortable managing the commercial lifecycle of projects, from pre-contract cost planning through to final account. You will play a key role in ensuring the commercial success of mechanical and electrical packages, working closely with project managers, engineers and site teams to maintain accurate cost control, contractual compliance and value-driven delivery across live projects.

M&E Quantity Surveyor Skills:

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role with exposure to mechanical and electrical works
• Strong understanding of M&E systems and installations within commercial, industrial or mixed-use projects
• Experience preparing cost plans, bills of quantities and tender documentation for M&E packages
• Solid knowledge of construction contracts, procurement routes and tendering processes
• Proficiency in MS Excel and cost management tools such as CostX, Bluebeam or similar
• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and manage risk
• Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and site-based teams

As a Mechanical & Electrical Quantity Surveyor:

• Prepare and manage M&E cost estimates, budgets and bills of quantities
• Support tender analysis and subcontractor procurement for mechanical and electrical packages
• Monitor project costs, valuations and variations to ensure accurate financial control
• Prepare interim valuations, cashflow forecasts and cost-to-complete reports
• Manage and agree M&E subcontractor accounts and applications for payment
• Identify, assess and manage commercial risks and opportunities across the M&E scope
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, procurement frameworks and client requirements
• Support project commercial reviews and reporting to senior management
• Contribute to value engineering and cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality
• Maintain accurate commercial records and support final account agreement

The Package: Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary in the region of at least €75,000 –  plus package.
