The Role – Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the mechanical delivery team on a major data centre project, taking responsibility for coordinating mechanical services, managing technical inputs and supporting full project lifecycle delivery.

You will play a key role in ensuring HVAC systems, pipework and plant installations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards, while working closely with project managers, subcontractors and design teams on a fast-paced, high-value build.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee technical delivery of mechanical packages on a large-scale data centre project
  • Review design documentation, drawings and technical submitta
  • Support plant and equipment selection in line with project specifications
  • Coordinate HVAC systems, pipework and mechanical services to ensure seamless integration
  • Work closely with subcontractors to ensure quality installation and programme adherence
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments for mechanical works
  • Assist in planning and sequencing of installations to meet key project milestones
  • Support procurement of mechanical equipment, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Contribute to cost control, variations and commercial reporting
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants and on-site teams
About You

  • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience working as a Mechanical Engineer within M&E contracting or mission-critical projects
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, pipework and mechanical services coordination
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation and managing submittals
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery
  • Driven, detail-focused and committed to high-quality project outcomes
