The Company

This specialist fire protection engineering contractor is headquartered in Co Westmeath and delivers complete sprinkler and fire protection packages across Ireland and Europe.

The company has significant experience across residential and mixed-use developments, alongside data centres, commercial, industrial and pharma projects. Engineering, design, fabrication, installation and commissioning are managed through its own specialist teams.

The Role: Mechanical Engineer

This Mechanical Engineer position will focus on residential fire protection projects, working from the company's headquarters while regularly travelling to construction sites.

You will help manage the engineering and delivery of residential sprinkler packages, coordinating drawings, materials, installation requirements and site activities from the early stages through to testing and handover.

You will work closely with developers, main contractors, site teams, designers and internal installation crews to keep projects moving to programme.

Must Have Requirements

  • Must have a mechanical engineering qualification or relevant mechanical background
  • Proven mechanical construction, building services or project engineering experience required
  • Must have the ability to read and understand mechanical drawings
  • Full driving licence required

Preferred Experience

  • Fire sprinkler experience desirable
  • Residential or apartment project experience preferred
  • Mechanical pipework and building services experience beneficial
  • AutoCAD, Revit or BIM experience beneficial

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering requirements across residential projects
  • Review sprinkler layouts and coordinated drawings
  • Coordinate materials, procurement and installation requirements
  • Liaise with main contractors, site teams and design teams
  • Monitor installation quality and programme
  • Resolve technical and coordination issues
  • Support testing, commissioning and handover

About You

You will come from a mechanical engineering or building services background with a practical understanding of how mechanical systems are installed on construction sites.

You should be comfortable dealing with drawings, site coordination and programme requirements and capable of building good working relationships with main contractors and site teams.

Fire sprinkler experience is desirable, particularly within apartments, residential or mixed-use developments, but candidates with transferable mechanical pipework or building services experience will also be considered.
