The Role: Mechanical Project Engineer
Based on a major data centre project in Fredericia, Denmark, the Mechanical Project Engineer will support the delivery of mechanical building services packages from design coordination through installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
Working closely with the Project Manager, construction team, subcontractors, and design consultants, you will play a key role in ensuring programme delivery, quality compliance, and successful project execution.

Must Have Requirements
You are a Mechanical Project Engineer with experience delivering mechanical services packages on large construction projects. You understand the importance of design coordination, programme delivery, quality management, and effective subcontractor coordination.
You are organised, technically strong, and capable of managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced project environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with site teams, consultants, and clients are essential.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven experience required with a mechanical contractor on commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, or data centre projects
- Must have at least 4 years' experience in a Mechanical Project Engineer role
- Experience managing technical submittals, RFIs, procurement, and design coordination is required
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems installation, commissioning, and quality control procedures
- Data centre project experience preferred
- Experience using BIM, Navisworks, AutoCAD, or Revit beneficial
- Previous experience working on European construction projects advantageous
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costs
- Senior Trades qualification with strong project engineering experience
- Knowledge of commissioning and turnover processes
- Experience mentoring graduate or junior engineers
- Coordinate mechanical design information and construction documentation
- Attend project handover and technical coordination meetings
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical submittals for compliance
- Produce and manage coordinated services drawings
- Assist with procurement activities, purchase orders, and material tracking
- Manage RFIs and liaise with consultants and design teams
- Support weekly project reporting and programme tracking
- Coordinate subcontractors and monitor installation progress
- Carry out quality inspections, snagging, and system walkdowns
- Populate and manage test packs and commissioning documentation
- Assist with method statements and risk assessments
- Monitor compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Support commercial activities including variations, take-offs, and cost-saving initiatives
- Assist with testing, commissioning, and project handover activities
