Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager Data Centre Construction
Location: Portugal
Leading International Data Centre Contractor
€90,000 to €110,000 DOE plus package

The Role Mechanical Project Manager
As Mechanical Project Manager, you will take full ownership of the mechanical package on a large scale data centre project in Sines. This is a senior site based leadership role where you will drive delivery across design coordination, procurement, construction and commissioning phases.
You will lead a team of Mechanical Engineers and supervisors, ensuring mechanical systems are delivered safely, on programme and in line with stringent data centre specifications. Your role will directly influence quality standards, commercial performance and overall project success on a technically demanding mission critical build.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team on site
• Oversee mechanical installation works including HVAC, pipework and specialist systems within a live data centre construction environment
• Drive programme performance through effective scheduling, sequencing and resource planning
• Coordinate with Contracts Managers, Site Engineers and other discipline leads to ensure accurate and timely information flow
• Review drawings and specifications, identifying discrepancies and formally communicating with the design team
• Propose design improvements to enhance buildability, cost efficiency and quality outcomes
• Monitor subcontractor performance and workmanship to ensure compliance with project standards
• Maintain the highest standards of health and safety across all mechanical activities
• Demonstrate strong commercial awareness in procurement, cost control and change management
About You
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager on large scale MEP projects
• Strong background delivering mechanical packages on data centre projects is essential
• Excellent understanding of procurement, contract administration and commercial control
• Experienced in project scheduling, programming and sequencing of mechanical works
• Confident leading multidisciplinary MEP teams in a fast paced construction environment
• Clear communicator with strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
• Detail focused with a commitment to quality, safety and programme delivery
