The Role Mechanical Quantity Surveyor
As a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor based in West Dublin, you will take full commercial responsibility for mechanical packages from pre contract stage through to final account. You will work closely with Project Managers, Planning Engineers and senior commercial leadership to ensure accurate cost control, contract compliance and commercial reporting.
This is a key role within a high performing commercial team where your ability to manage subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations and claims will directly impact project profitability and programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage all commercial aspects of mechanical building services projects from tender handover to final account
• Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, cash flow forecasts and monthly commercial reports
• Administer subcontractor packages including procurement, valuations, payments, variations and final accounts
• Prepare interim valuations and agree applications for payment with clients
• Identify, price and negotiate variations, remeasurements, change orders and dayworks
• Monitor project costs against budget and highlight commercial risks at an early stage
• Attend and lead commercial meetings with internal teams and client representatives
• Work closely with planning teams to ensure accurate cost to complete and progress reporting
• Maintain accurate and detailed records to support claims and protect contractual entitlements
• Ensure compliance with contract conditions and company commercial procedures
About You
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Building Services or related discipline
• Proven experience as a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor within a mechanical contractor or M&E contractor
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management on building services projects
• Experience managing mechanical packages on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial or large commercial projects
• Excellent understanding of variations, remeasurement, subcontractor management and final accounts
• Commercially aware with strong negotiation and communication skills
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast paced project environment
• Detail focused with a commitment to accuracy and protecting project margin
