The Role – Senior Electrical Estimator
The successful Senior Electrical Estimator will take ownership of the tendering and estimating process for major electrical packages across pharmaceutical, healthcare and large scale commercial developments.
Working from the Dublin office, you will analyse drawings, carry out detailed electrical take offs and prepare competitive tenders that support successful project delivery. This role plays a key part in securing new work and ensuring projects are commercially viable from the outset.
You will work closely with project managers, suppliers, subcontractors and clients while contributing value engineering ideas and identifying commercial risks during the tender process.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates for large scale construction and building services projects
• Manage the full electrical tender process from enquiry through submission and post tender follow up
• Carry out electrical take offs from schematics, coordinated M&E drawings and layout drawings
• Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations for accurate project pricing
• Identify commercial and technical risks within tender documentation
• Develop cost plans, pricing strategies and tender submissions
• Liaise with internal engineering, commercial and delivery teams during the bid process
• Support value engineering initiatives to improve project efficiency and competitiveness
• Maintain detailed records of estimates, assumptions and pricing documentation
• Attend pre construction meetings and tender presentations when required
• Interpret BIM models to extract information for take offs and coordination review
• Monitor market trends, material costs and industry pricing benchmarks
About You
• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Minimum 4 years experience in electrical estimating within an M&E contractor or building services environment
• Strong experience pricing electrical packages on pharmaceutical, healthcare or commercial construction projects
• Excellent ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications and tender documents
• Experience carrying out detailed electrical take offs and cost analysis
• Strong commercial awareness and risk assessment skills
• Experience with estimating software and advanced spreadsheet skills
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to meet tender deadlines
• Strong communication and coordination skills when working with clients and project teams
