With a strong pipeline of water infrastructure projects across Kilkenny and the wider South East & South West, they are looking to appoint a MEICA Engineer to support the delivery of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation works.

The Role: MEICA Engineer
As MEICA Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing mechanical, electrical and ICA installations across water and wastewater infrastructure projects in Kilkenny and the surrounding region.
Working closely with the Project Manager, site teams, specialist subcontractors and design engineers, you will help ensure MEICA packages are delivered safely, to specification and in line with programme.
The position will involve technical coordination, procurement support, installation supervision, quality control and commissioning activities across both new-build and upgrade projects.
Must Have Requirements
You will have a mechanical or electrical engineering background with practical experience coordinating installations on construction or infrastructure projects.
You should be comfortable working with subcontractors, reviewing technical drawings and managing engineering issues as they arise on site.
Experience in the Irish water sector would be particularly beneficial, although engineers from industrial, utilities, process engineering or building services backgrounds will also be considered where they have relevant MEICA experience.
You will be organised, technically capable and confident working independently while maintaining good communication with the wider project team.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a degree or relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a mechanical, electrical or MEICA engineering role.
- Proven experience required in the delivery of mechanical or electrical installations on construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, installation procedures and commissioning requirements.
- Full driving licence required.
- Previous experience on water or wastewater treatment projects.
- Knowledge of pumps, pipework, valves, motors, MCC panels, instrumentation and control systems.
- Experience working with Uisce Éireann specifications and standards.
- Familiarity with commissioning procedures, inspection and test plans and technical documentation.
- Experience using AutoCAD, MS Project or similar engineering software.
- Coordinate MEICA installations across water and wastewater treatment projects, ensuring works are delivered to specification and programme.
- Liaise with mechanical, electrical and ICA subcontractors to manage installation activities and resolve technical issues.
- Review engineering drawings, technical submittals, specifications and installation documentation.
- Support procurement of MEICA equipment, materials and specialist subcontractor packages.
- Monitor installation quality, carry out inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Assist with testing, commissioning, snagging and handover of mechanical, electrical and control systems.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and site teams to maintain programme delivery, health and safety standards and accurate project reporting.
- Coordinate with designers, suppliers and client representatives to resolve technical queries and maintain progress on site.
