We are seeking a MEICA Project Engineer to support the delivery of multidisciplinary water and wastewater projects, working from the Co Kildare with travel to project sites as required.

This role involves coordinating design reviews, supervising installation activities, supporting commissioning, and ensuring MEICA works are executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.

You will collaborate closely with project managers, design teams, subcontractors and commissioning personnel to maintain strong progress and high technical standards across each phase of delivery.

  • Experience in electrical, instrumentation, controls or automation engineering within water, utilities or industrial sectors
  • Ability to review technical designs and ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Strong site supervision capability and experience coordinating subcontractors and installation teams
  • Good understanding of low-voltage systems, power distribution, controls, MCCs and instrumentation
  • Strong communication and reporting skills for engaging with multidisciplinary teams
  • Confident problem-solver with the ability to escalate issues appropriately
  • Ability to manage project tasks and support delivery across design, installation and commissioning phases
  • Full clean Irish/EU driving licence and legal permission to work in Ireland
As a MEICA Project Engineer:
  • Review MEICA design information to ensure compliance with project scope, standards and client requirements
  • Supervise day-to-day electrical and ICA installation works on site, ensuring adherence to drawings, specifications and safety procedures
  • Support project managers with planning, coordination, progress tracking and subcontractor management
  • Ensure electrical installations—including power, lighting, control systems and LV panels—are installed correctly and tested to specification
  • Assist in planning and coordinating commissioning activities with the commissioning team
  • Implement quality control measures and carry out regular inspections to identify non-conformances and corrective actions
  • Promote strong safety culture on site through inspections, hazard identification and safe-work practices
  • Liaise with civil, mechanical, process and project management teams to maintain coordinated delivery
  • Manage subcontractor scopes, monitor performance and maintain accurate site records
  • Support site investigations, design development, documentation control and project reporting
  • Assist in other duties required to ensure successful project completion across MEICA, civil and mechanical elements
The Package: Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least €60,000 plus package, depending on experience.
