Job Title: MEP Lead – Data Centre Construction
Location: Portugal
Leading European data centre contractor delivering hyperscale projects
€90,000 to €110,000 DOE plus package

The Role – MEP Lead
As MEP Lead, you will take full responsibility for the coordination, management, and delivery of all mechanical and electrical services on a major data centre project in Portugal. This is a senior site based role with a direct impact on programme, quality, commissioning readiness, and client satisfaction.
You will lead the MEP function from late design through construction and into commissioning and handover, working closely with construction management, design teams, specialist subcontractors, and the end client.

As MEP Lead, you will take full responsibility for the coordination, management, and delivery of all mechanical and electrical services on a major data centre project in Portugal. You will lead the MEP function from late design through construction and into commissioning and handover, working closely with construction management, design teams, specialist subcontractors, and the end client.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all MEP activities across design coordination, installation, testing, and commissioning
- Manage MEP engineers, supervisors, and specialist subcontractors on site
- Drive quality control across mechanical and electrical installations
- Ensure MEP works are delivered safely, in line with project and statutory requirement
- Coordinate MEP sequencing with the wider construction programme
- Chair and contribute to MEP coordination and technical meetings
- Review and approve MEP design information, technical submissions, and method statements
- Track progress against programme milestones and report on MEP performance
- Identify and resolve technical or installation issues before they impact programme
- Lead commissioning readiness, systems integration, and final handover
About You
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong background in MEP delivery on large scale construction projects
- Proven experience working as an MEP Lead, MEP Manager, or Senior MEP Engineer
- Experience on data centre, mission critical, pharmaceutical, or industrial projects
- Excellent understanding of MEP systems, installation methodologies, and commissioning processes
- Confident leader with the ability to manage multi discipline teams and subcontractors
- Detail focused, programme aware, and quality driven
- Comfortable working in an international, fast paced site environment
