The Role - Planning Manager
As Planning Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of large scale data centre construction projects in Finland. Reporting to the Regional Planning Manager, you will lead all planning and scheduling activities across the project lifecycle from pre construction through to commissioning and handover.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed construction programmes, tracking project performance, identifying risks, and ensuring programme milestones are achieved safely and efficiently. This is a high profile position within a fast paced mission critical environment where strong communication, technical planning expertise, and leadership skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain, and manage detailed master construction programmes for live data centre projects
• Monitor project progress and provide accurate reporting to senior management teams
• Identify programme risks, delays, and mitigation strategies to support successful project delivery
• Coordinate planning activities across pre construction, construction, commissioning, and handover phases
• Prepare short term and long term look ahead programmes
• Analyse project performance and produce variance reports with corrective action recommendations
• Lead planning discussions with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal delivery teams
• Ensure planning processes and project controls procedures align with company standards
• Support resource planning and programme coordination across multiple project phases
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the planning and project controls function
About You:
• Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in construction planning within a main contractor environment
• Strong experience delivering large scale construction projects ideally within data centres, mission critical, pharmaceutical, industrial, or high tech sectors
• Excellent understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and project controls
• Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject
• Experience using BIM and digital construction tools is highly desirable
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and reporting skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Commercially aware with a strong understanding of construction contracts and project delivery
• Ability to work in fast paced environments with demanding project timelines
