Project Director - Austria - Major Data Centre

A leading European Main Contractor working on major Data Centres have a need for a Project Director to lead the delivery of a €Multi-million data centre project in Austria.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the full lifecycle of the data centre project from pre-construction through to handover.
  
  
• Manage and coordinate a large team of project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and consultants.
  
  
• Lead project planning, scheduling, and cost control to ensure delivery on time and on budget.
  
  
• Drive a strong culture of health & safety, quality, and technical excellence on site.
  
  
• Act as the senior point of contact for the client and all key stakeholders.
  
  
• Manage risk, ensure contract compliance, and resolve project issues proactively.
  
  
• Report progress to the executive board and participate in strategic business planning.
   
  
  

Project Director Skills

• Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager on major construction projects, ideally €100m+ in value.
  
  
• Previous experience in mission-critical environments (Data Centres, Pharma, Life Sciences, etc.) is strongly preferred.
  
  
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage large teams under pressure.
  
  
• A deep understanding of construction project delivery, from concept to commissioning.
  
  
• Excellent client-facing skills and a professional, proactive approach to relationship management.
  
  
• Willingness to be based in Austria for the duration of the project (relocation support, accommodation and flights when needed provided).
  
  

 

Qualifications:

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  
  
• Chartered status (or working towards it) is a strong advantage.
  
  

Salary & Package

• €150,000 – €180,000 basic salary depending on experience.
