The Role: Civil Engineering Project Manager
An experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager is required for a major infrastructure development project at Cork Airport, Co Cork.
This is a key leadership position where you will take full responsibility for project delivery from mobilisation through to completion. The project involves significant civil engineering works including earthworks, drainage, roads, paving, utilities, traffic management and associated infrastructure works within a live operational environment.
Reporting directly to senior management, you will oversee site operations, manage engineering teams, coordinate subcontractors and ensure the project is delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
This role will suit a Civil Engineering Project Manager with strong infrastructure experience who is comfortable managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and tight programme requirements.

About You
You are an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager with a strong track record delivering infrastructure and civil engineering projects for a main contractor.
You have excellent leadership skills and can confidently manage engineers, subcontractors, consultants, and clients while maintaining focus on safety, quality, and programme delivery. You are commercially aware, technically strong, and capable of making decisions that keep projects moving efficiently.
Experience on roads, public realm, transport infrastructure, airport works, utilities, or large-scale external works projects will be highly regarded.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have a Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Must have a minimum of 6 years' experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Proven experience required managing projects from planning through to handover
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering construction methods, specifications, and industry standards
- Experience managing subcontractors, engineers, and site teams
- Full driving licence required
- Preferred Experience
- Previous experience delivering car park, roads, airport, transport, or public infrastructure projects
- Experience with Irish Public Works Contracts
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
- Strong background in drainage, utilities, and external works packages
Nice to Have
- Project Management qualification
- Experience working in live operational environments
- Knowledge of NEC contracts
- Experience using project planning software and digital reporting systems
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project delivery in line with programme, budget, quality, and contractual requirements
- Lead site management, engineering teams, and subcontractors throughout construction
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, environmental, and statutory regulations
- Coordinate with airport representatives, consultants, utility providers, and project stakeholders
- Monitor programme performance and implement mitigation measures where required
- Manage project risks and drive solutions to maintain programme delivery
- Review method statements, construction programmes, and technical submissions
- Prepare progress reports and attend client and stakeholder meetings
- Support commercial teams with cost control, variations, and contract administration
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and project handover activities
