The Company
This established Irish civil engineering contractor has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality public infrastructure, roads, utilities, public realm, and environmental improvement projects across Ireland. Working closely with local authorities and public sector clients, they are recognised for delivering complex schemes safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Due to continued project delivery in Kerry, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a major public realm project. The project is well established, with an experienced site team already in place and a strong programme of works continuing for the next 18 months.
The Role: Project Manager
Based in Co Kerry, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of this live public realm project, reporting to the Contracts Manager while leading an established multidisciplinary team.
The Project Manager will oversee programme delivery, commercial performance, quality, health and safety, stakeholder engagement and client relationships, ensuring the project continues to meet programme, budget and contractual objectives.
This role will suit an experienced Project Manager with a background delivering civil engineering, roads, infrastructure or public realm projects for a main contractor in Ireland.

About You
You are an experienced Project Manager who has successfully delivered civil engineering or public infrastructure projects within Ireland. You understand the commercial and operational demands of managing live construction projects while maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
You are confident leading multidisciplinary teams, coordinating subcontractors, driving programme delivery and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety throughout every stage of construction.

The Role: Project Manager

The Project Manager will oversee programme delivery, commercial performance, quality, health and safety, stakeholder engagement and client relationships, ensuring the project continues to meet programme, budget and contractual objectives.

Must Have Requirements
- Must have 5+ years' experience as a Project Manager delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects in Ireland.
- Proven experience managing public sector, roads, utilities or public realm projects is required.
- Experience working for a main contractor is essential.
- Strong knowledge of commercial management, programme delivery and subcontractor coordination.
- Excellent client and stakeholder management skills are required.
Preferred Experience
- Experience working with local authority clients.
- Background managing multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong understanding of NEC, Public Works or similar construction contracts.
- Engineering qualification preferred.
Nice to Have
- Chartered status or working towards it.
- Temporary Works or Project Management qualifications.
- Experience using modern project management software.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of a live public realm construction project from site through to completion.
- Promote and maintain the highest standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental performance.
- Manage programme delivery, ensuring works remain on schedule and within budget.
- Coordinate engineers, commercial staff, planners and HSQE personnel.
- Manage direct labour, plant resources, materials and subcontractors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities and project stakeholders.
- Identify commercial risks, variations and change control opportunities.
- Monitor project performance and report regularly to senior management.
- Ensure accurate project documentation including as-built records and safety file compliance.
- Chair site meetings and coordinate pre-start planning activities.
- Mentor engineers and support the ongoing development of the site team.
- Ensure company procedures and quality standards are consistently maintained throughout the project.
