A consistent pipeline of public and private water projects has created the need for a highly experienced Project Manager to lead critical wastewater assets in Cork City and the surrounding region.
The Role Project Manager Wastewater
This is a senior project leadership role focused on the delivery of wastewater pumping stations and treatment plants. You will take full ownership of projects from design coordination through construction delivery and into final commissioning and handover.
The role suits an individual who is equally comfortable in technical design discussions, site based delivery and commissioning environments. Electrical systems are central to the role, supported by a strong mechanical understanding and deep experience in wastewater processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the delivery of wastewater pumping station and treatment plant projects
- Lead and coordinate mechanical and electrical design development with consultants and internal teams
- Manage construction delivery on site, ensuring programme, quality and safety targets are achieved
- Provide technical leadership on electrical systems including MCCs, control systems, instrumentation and power distribution
- Oversee mechanical systems including pumps, pipework, treatment processes and associated plant
- Manage subcontractors, specialist suppliers and commissioning teams
- Lead commissioning planning and execution through to successful handover
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
- Report progress, risk and programme status to senior management and stakeholders
- Act as the technical point of contact for clients, operators and design teams
- Degree qualified or trade background in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related discipline
- 20 plus years experience delivering wastewater pumping stations or treatment plants
- Strong electrical engineering background with hands on project delivery experience
- Solid mechanical understanding of wastewater processes and treatment systems
- Proven experience managing projects from design through construction and commissioning
- Comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams and specialist subcontractors
- Strong commercial and programme awareness
- Clear communicator with the confidence to lead technical and stakeholder discussions
- Focused on quality, safety and long term asset performance
