This established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor has been delivering critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Ireland for nearly five decades. The company specialises in water treatment plants, wastewater facilities, pumping stations and large scale utilities infrastructure that support communities and industry nationwide.
With a strong reputation for engineering excellence, safety and innovation, the business delivers complex multidisciplinary projects combining civil engineering, mechanical installation and electrical and control systems. Their experienced delivery teams work across some of Ireland’s most important water infrastructure projects.
The Role – EICA Supervisor
As an EICA Supervisor you will play a key role in overseeing electrical, instrumentation, control and automation installations across water and wastewater infrastructure projects throughout the west of Ireland.
Working closely with project managers, commissioning teams and subcontractors, you will supervise site installation works, support commissioning activities and ensure that electrical and MEICA systems are installed, tested and commissioned to the highest quality and safety standards.
This role is ideal for an experienced electrician or E&I specialist with strong commissioning experience who is looking to progress within the utilities and water infrastructure sector.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise electrical, instrumentation, control and automation installations across water infrastructure projects
• Ensure all health, safety and environmental standards are maintained on site
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and site teams ensuring quality and programme targets are achieved
• Support the preparation and development of commissioning test documentation
• Oversee installation and commissioning of electrical equipment including pumps, VSDs, control panels and MCCs
• Carry out QA inspections and internal snagging of MEICA installations
• Conduct motor rotation checks, MCC power up procedures and I O point to point testing
• Set up and calibrate instrumentation including 4 to 20 mA signal scaling to PLC systems
• Support commissioning and testing of disinfection and dosing systems
• Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests and Site Acceptance Tests when required
• Complete commissioning documentation including pre test inspections and test records
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical and ICA subcontractors to resolve installation issues
• Assist with procurement and material management when required
• Support process engineers with verification testing and system optimisation
About You
• Trade qualified Electrician or Electrical and Instrumentation Technician
• RECI or equivalent electrical certification
• Minimum 5 years post apprenticeship experience
• Strong experience in commissioning MEICA systems including electrical, instrumentation and control systems
• Experience working on water or wastewater treatment infrastructure is beneficial
• Strong knowledge of electrical fault finding, testing and certification
• Ability to liaise directly with clients and commissioning teams during project delivery
• Safe Pass and Manual Handling certification
• Full Irish or EU driving licence
• Strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to manage site activities
