The Role – Project Quantity Surveyor
As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial responsibility for electrical packages across healthcare and hospital projects, from tender stage through to final account. You will play a key role in managing costs on complex, compliance-driven projects where precision, documentation and control are essential.
Working closely with project managers, engineers and clients, you will ensure commercial performance is maximised while maintaining strict adherence to programme, quality and contractual requirements.

Salary: €70,000 – €85,000 (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
- Manage project budgets, cost reporting, BOQs and profit planning across healthcare and hospital projects.
- Lead and manage interim commercial meetings with clients and internal teams.
- Prepare detailed commercial reports for Project Managers and Commercial Managers.
- Administer subcontractor accounts including interim valuations, variations and final accounts.
- Ensure payment applications, certificates and subcontractor payments are processed in line with contract terms.
- Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts, ensuring all variations, remeasures and claims are captured.
- Identify and report commercial risks, cost escalations and project impacts to senior management.
- Work closely with planning teams to ensure accurate progress and cost reporting.
- Manage dayworks, variations and change orders, ensuring accurate costing and agreement.
- Maintain detailed commercial records to support project tracking and financial control.
- Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or a related discipline.
- 7 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within an electrical contractor environment.
- Experience working on healthcare, hospital or other highly regulated construction projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical contracting and associated commercial processes.
- Good knowledge of contract law and commercial management.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- High attention to detail with strong organisational ability.
- Able to work on your own initiative and manage multiple priorities.
- Eligible to work in Ireland with a full clean driving licence.
