The Company
This contractor has a strong presence in Ireland’s water and wastewater sector, delivering long term civil engineering and infrastructure programmes for major clients across the country.
There is a healthy pipeline of framework work across Limerick, Clare and the wider Munster region, covering water and wastewater infrastructure, treatment works, pipelines, utilities and associated civils. You’ll be joining an experienced commercial and site team with good exposure to live projects and clients.
The Role: Quantity Surveyor
This Quantity Surveyor role can be based in either Limerick, Co Limerick or Ennis, Co Clare, working across a long term water and wastewater framework.
The projects are heavily civils focused, involving water and wastewater infrastructure, utilities, pipelines, treatment works, groundworks and associated civil engineering packages.
You will work closely with site management and the wider commercial team, managing costs, subcontractors, valuations and variations across multiple live projects. There is also regular client interaction, so you need to be a confident communicator who can deal comfortably with both site and commercial matters.
Must Have Requirements
You’ll have 2 to 3 years’ Quantity Surveying experience with a good grounding in civil engineering. Experience across water, wastewater, utilities, pipelines, treatment works, groundworks or similar infrastructure projects would be particularly relevant.
You need to be comfortable getting involved in the detail of civils packages while also having the communication skills to deal confidently with clients, engineers, subcontractors and site management.

- Proven civil engineering experience is required, ideally across water, wastewater, utilities or infrastructure projects
- Strong understanding of civils packages, subcontractor accounts, valuations, variations and cost control
- Strong communication skills required with the ability to deal directly with clients and site management
- Water and wastewater framework experience preferred
- Experience across pipelines, utilities, treatment works, groundworks or associated civils beneficial
- Knowledge of Irish public works or infrastructure contracts would be an advantage
- Manage the commercial aspects of civil engineering, water and wastewater projects
- Procure and manage subcontractors across civils and infrastructure packages
- Prepare valuations, variations, cost reports and commercial forecasts
- Measure works and monitor project costs against budgets
- Work closely with site management to track progress, quantities and expenditure
- Liaise directly with clients on valuations, variations and other commercial matters
- Assist with final accounts and commercial close out across framework projects
