One of Ireland’s fastest growing specialist engineering contractors is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join their leadership team in Kildare. Operating across Ireland, the Nordics, the UK and the US, this company delivers high value water treatment and engineering solutions for mission critical sectors including Data Centres, Pharma, Power and Industrial Manufacturing.

The Role – Senior Commercial Manager
This Senior Commercial Manager role is a key leadership position within the business, overseeing the full commercial function across a major international project portfolio. You will lead and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors while taking ownership of commercial performance across projects in Ireland, the Nordics and the US.
You will play a critical role in protecting commercial interests, driving profitability, managing contractual risk, and ensuring all projects are commercially controlled from pre contract stage through to final account. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused leader with strong experience in engineering, M&E, industrial, pharmaceutical or data centre construction projects.

Salary: €100,000 – €130,000 DOE

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial team across multiple engineering and construction projects
- Manage the full commercial lifecycle from contract award to final account agreement
- Ensure accurate contract administration and commercial compliance across all projects
- Oversee procurement strategy, subcontractor package management and contract negotiations
- Ensure all project variations are identified, valued, submitted and recovered successfully
- Prepare and present monthly CVRs, commercial reports, cashflow forecasts and cost analysis
- Manage project risk, change control and commercial strategy across the project portfolio
- Support operational and project delivery teams with commercial guidance and decision making
- Develop and mentor Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff across the business
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders
- Support value engineering initiatives while protecting quality and programme delivery
- Monitor project performance to ensure commercial targets and margins are achieved
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline
- 10 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management roles
- Proven background leading and managing commercial or QS teams
- Strong experience in contract administration, variation management and final accounts
- Excellent understanding of CVRs, commercial reporting and cashflow forecasting
- Experience within mechanical, electrical, industrial or specialist engineering projects is highly desirable
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Comfortable managing large project values and multiple live contracts simultaneously
- Organised, detail focused and capable of leading high performing commercial teams
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage confidently with senior leadership and clients
- Willingness to travel internationally approximately one week per month
Salary: €100,000 – €130,000 DOE
