A rapidly expanding engineering contractor delivering specialist water treatment and critical infrastructure projects across Ireland and Europe is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join their growing engineering team in Tipperary.

The Role – Senior Electrical Engineer
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Electrical Engineer looking to work on complex engineering projects within the rapidly growing Data Centre and Industrial sectors. You will be involved in all aspects of electrical design, project delivery and technical coordination across a wide range of water treatment and process engineering projects.

You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams while supporting both design and project delivery functions from concept through to commissioning. The role will also involve leading electrical design activities, acting as the primary point of contact for electrical queries, and mentoring junior engineers within the business.

This position will suit an Electrical Engineer with strong technical design experience who enjoys working in fast paced engineering environments delivering technically challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Work across electrical design, evaluation and delivery of water treatment and engineering systems
• Design control panels, develop SLDs, create IO lists and manage cable sizing and routing
• Support electrical system design for Data Centres, Pharma, Industrial and municipal projects
• Coordinate electrical design activities to ensure projects are delivered on programme and within budget
• Provide technical support to pre construction, commissioning and project delivery teams
• Act as the main point of contact for electrical engineering queries across projects
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams
• Prepare high quality technical and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage multiple engineering projects and client requirements simultaneously
• Support testing, commissioning and system integration activities where required
• Lead and mentor junior electrical engineers within the team
• Maintain regular communication with clients, contractors and stakeholders throughout project delivery

About You

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• 5 years’ experience in electrical design engineering within Industrial, Data Centre, Pharmaceutical or infrastructure projects
• Strong experience designing electrical systems and control systems for engineering projects
• Excellent technical knowledge of electrical design, power distribution and control systems
• Experience producing SLDs, IO lists and electrical design documentation
• Strong communication and technical writing skills
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering environments
• Good understanding of project delivery, scheduling and coordination
• Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, Eplan or other electrical design software is highly desirable
• Knowledge of water treatment systems, process engineering or industrial automation would be advantageous
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Must be eligible to work within the EU
