The Company

This international engineering services contractor is one of Europe's leading specialists in the delivery of complex engineering projects across the data centre, pharmaceutical, life sciences, industrial and power sectors.

With a substantial pipeline of hyperscale data centre projects across mainland Europe, the business continues to deliver some of the continent's largest and most technically advanced developments. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a flagship data centre project in Finsterwalde, Germany.

The Role: Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will take full commercial ownership of the electrical package on a major hyperscale data centre project.

Working closely with the Commercial Manager, Project Manager, Engineers, Planning team and site management, you will manage all commercial and contractual aspects of the electrical package from procurement through to final account, ensuring costs are controlled, risks are managed, and commercial objectives are achieved.

This is a senior commercial role offering genuine autonomy, leadership responsibility and the opportunity to influence project performance from start to finish.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have 7 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within an electrical or M&E contracting environment.
• Proven experience delivering data centre, pharmaceutical, life sciences, industrial or mission-critical construction projects.
• Strong commercial and contractual management experience from project award through to final account.
• Experience managing subcontractor procurement, commercial reporting, cost control and change management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with a main contractor or international M&E contractor.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, variations and commercial risk management.
• Experience preparing project forecasts, cost reports and cash flow reporting.
• Experience negotiating commercial agreements with clients and subcontractors.
• Electrical trade or engineering background would be advantageous.

Nice to Have

• Experience working on hyperscale data centre projects.
• Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC or other standard construction contracts.
• Experience managing multiple subcontract packages.
• Previous European project experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full commercial responsibility for the electrical package throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage all contractual obligations and commercial reporting requirements.
• Act as the primary commercial interface with the client and supply chain.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Prepare accurate monthly cost reports, forecasts, cash flow reports and commercial reporting.
• Manage project budgets and protect commercial performance throughout project delivery.
• Review contractual correspondence and identify commercial risks.
• Manage change control procedures and negotiate variations with the client.
• Prepare monthly valuations and payment applications.
• Lead the agreement of final accounts with both clients and subcontractors.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Planning teams to maximise commercial performance.
• Support and mentor junior members of the commercial team where required.

About You

You are an experienced Senior Electrical Quantity Surveyor who enjoys taking ownership of major projects and influencing commercial outcomes.

You combine excellent commercial awareness with strong communication skills and are comfortable managing relationships with clients, subcontractors and senior project stakeholders.

You thrive on technically challenging projects and have the experience to manage the commercial delivery of complex electrical packages from procurement through to final account.
